1. Who We Are

AuditYourWeb provides automated, WCAG-oriented website accessibility scanning, issue reporting, monitoring, and accessibility widget tools. References to "AuditYourWeb," "we," "us," or "our" mean the operator of the AuditYourWeb product.

This policy applies to visitors, account holders, and users of the AuditYourWeb services. It does not apply to third-party websites that you scan or visit through external links.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

  • Account information: name, email address, password hash, Google OAuth profile data when you use Google login, authentication tokens, and account preferences.
  • Website and scan information: submitted URLs, domain names, sitemap URLs, public page URLs, accessibility findings, issue counts, code snippets, element selectors, screenshots, report content, crawl metadata, and scan history.
  • Widget and verification information: domain ownership checks, verification tokens, widget public keys, enabled/disabled status, domain lock data, and widget request logs.
  • Usage and device information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, timestamps, referral URLs, API logs, error logs, and security events.
  • Support and communications: messages, attachments, feedback, and other information you send to us.
  • Billing information: if paid plans are enabled, billing details may be processed by a payment provider. We do not intend to store full payment card numbers on our servers.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create, authenticate, and manage user accounts;
  • run accessibility scans and generate reports;
  • show code evidence, screenshots, and remediation context;
  • provide website monitoring and deep route audits;
  • verify website ownership and enforce widget domain locks;
  • respond to support requests and product feedback;
  • maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug errors;

4. Website Scan Data

AuditYourWeb is designed to scan public website pages and authorized customer websites. When you submit a URL, our systems may load the page, capture a screenshot, analyze the page structure, collect code snippets relevant to accessibility findings, and store report results.

You should not submit private dashboards, password-protected pages, sensitive personal data, medical data, financial data, or confidential internal systems unless you have authority to do so and understand the data that may be captured in a report.

5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, Google OAuth state validation, session management, security, analytics, and product functionality. For example, the web app may store an authentication session in browser storage so you can stay logged in.

Your browser may let you block cookies or clear local storage, but some features may stop working if you do so.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

  • service providers that help us host, store, secure, analyze, and deliver the service;
  • AI, scanning, analytics, infrastructure, email, and payment providers when needed to operate the product;
  • legal, security, or compliance advisors when necessary to protect rights, safety, users, or the service;
  • authorities or third parties when required by law, court order, valid legal process, or to prevent abuse;
  • a successor entity if AuditYourWeb is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations. The basis depends on the type of data and the reason we process it.

8. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with law, and protect the product. Scan reports, screenshots, logs, and backups may persist for a limited period after account or report deletion because of operational and security needs.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising if applicable.

12. International Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from your local laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
