Legal
Terms and Conditions
These Terms govern your access to and use of AuditYourWeb, including the free accessibility checker, authenticated dashboard, reports, monitoring, deep audits, and widget tools.
Last updated: July 5, 2026
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using AuditYourWeb, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you use AuditYourWeb on behalf of a company, agency, client, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. The AuditYourWeb Service
AuditYourWeb provides automated website accessibility scanning, WCAG-oriented issue detection, code evidence, screenshots, downloadable reports, website monitoring, deep route audits, and accessibility widget tooling.
The service is a technical aid. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not certify that any website fully complies with ADA, WCAG, Section 508, EAA, AODA, or any other law or standard.
3. Accounts and Authentication
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep login credentials secure, and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may use email/password login or supported third-party login options such as Google OAuth. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security safeguards.
4. Authority to Scan Websites
You may only submit websites, domains, URLs, sitemaps, or code for scanning if you own them or have permission from the owner or authorized operator. You must not use AuditYourWeb to probe, overload, attack, scrape, or test systems without authorization.
The free checker is intended for public pages. Do not submit private, confidential, regulated, password-protected, or sensitive pages unless you have authority and understand that report data may include screenshots, snippets, URLs, and page evidence.
5. Reports, Findings, and Limitations
AuditYourWeb reports are generated by automated checks and may include machine-detectable accessibility findings, successful checks, neutral checks, screenshots, snippets, and recommendations.
Automated accessibility testing has limits. Reports may miss issues, flag false positives, or require manual judgment. Keyboard-only testing, screen reader testing, design review, content review, user testing, and expert review may still be necessary.
You are responsible for reviewing findings before relying on them in development, procurement, legal, settlement, compliance, or public communications.
6. Widget, Monitoring, and Deep Audits
Widget scripts, public keys, verification tokens, and related setup materials are issued for authorized websites. You must not share, resell, tamper with, bypass domain restrictions, or install widget code on websites you do not control.
Monitoring and deep audits may crawl multiple public routes, including URLs discovered from a sitemap. You are responsible for configuring scan scope appropriately and ensuring you have permission to run those scans.
7. Your Content and License to Operate the Service
You retain ownership of URLs, website data, screenshots, snippets, reports, feedback, and other content you submit or generate through the service. You grant AuditYourWeb a limited license to host, process, display, reproduce, analyze, and transmit that content as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service.
You represent that your content and use of the service do not violate law, infringe third-party rights, or breach agreements with website owners, clients, employers, or vendors.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity;
- scan websites without authorization;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the service;
- bypass authentication, rate limits, paywalls, or domain locks;
- upload malicious code or interfere with other users;
- misrepresent automated reports as legal certification;
- sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service except as allowed by us.
9. Fees and Paid Features
Some features may be free, trial-based, paid, usage-limited, or subject to separate order terms. If paid plans are enabled, prices, renewal terms, cancellation options, and taxes will be shown at checkout or in the applicable order flow.
Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers. We do not intend to store full payment card numbers on our servers.
10. Third-Party Services
AuditYourWeb may rely on third-party hosting, analytics, authentication, AI, scanning, email, payment, and infrastructure services. Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
11. Intellectual Property
AuditYourWeb, including its software, design, branding, scanner logic, templates, reports, user interface, and documentation, is owned by AuditYourWeb or its licensors. Except for rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights.
You may use reports generated for your authorized websites for internal business, development, remediation, and stakeholder communication purposes.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the service or others, failed to pay applicable fees, or used the product in a harmful or unauthorized way.
You may stop using the service at any time. Certain provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and payment obligations.
13. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and error-free operation.
We do not guarantee that every accessibility issue will be found, that every reported issue is correct, that any remediation will satisfy a legal standard, or that use of the service will prevent complaints, demand letters, litigation, enforcement, or penalties.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AuditYourWeb will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, legal exposure, or accessibility claims arising from or related to the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to AuditYourWeb for the service in the three months before the claim or USD 100.
15. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AuditYourWeb from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, unauthorized scans, misuse of the service, violation of these Terms, or violation of law or third-party rights.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Your continued use of the service after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
